Brunswick West

Brunswick West is located around 6kms north of Melbourne’s CBD, in the City of Moreland. Flanked by Parkville to the south, Moonee Ponds Creek to the west, Coburg to the north and Brunswick to the east, this suburb is primarily residential with light commercial activity.

Brunswick West is serviced by a tram line into the city and several bus routes that connect east and west. For cyclists, many local streets have cycle lanes and the Moonee Ponds Creek and Capital City bike trails aren’t far away.

The suburb’s pub, the Grand View Hotel, is a heritage-listed building and offers a great local watering hole with indoor and garden seating options. For a local pizza, you can’t go past Zizani Pizza on Melville Road – try the eggplant pizza, it’s a hit. For seasonal fruit and veggies, fresh cut flowers and imported gourmet produce, Melba’s Food Hall on Grantham Street is the place to go. They’ve got a huge range of local and imported wines and beers, a well-stocked delicatessen and a café where you can unwind once you’re done shopping.

Locally, Brunswick West has two government primary schools, Brunswick South-West Primary School and Brunswick North-West Primary School, and St Joseph’s, a Catholic primary school.
